De stichting KOEN houdt zich, naast het Vakantie-Bijbel-Week (VBW)-werk, ook bezig met opleidingen, waardoor de kinderwerkers groeien in zelfvertrouwen en dat is nodig om zelfstandig te worden.
Op de verrassende en effectieve training ‘Emotie in pedagogiek’ leren kinderwerkers zelf verantwoordelijkheid te dragen. De trainers zijn: prof. Bányai Sándor en zijn vrouw Viktória uit Hongarije en Demeter Irén uit Roemenië.
De workshops die tot nu toe gehouden werden in Roemenië, Slowakije en Oekraïne werden mede mogelijk gemaakt door KerkinActie .
Deze indringende trainingen hebben grote impact voor zowel de korte als lange termijn.

“…One of my dear friends talked to me, that now is the time to try it. Moreover it is free for me - thanks to dutch KOEN! She hushed me, that 23 other people would experiment it all but me. I remembered her, when she tryed it first time - steadfast, happy smiling, levitation over the earth. Do I really need it? 4 days with strangers, some known faces, moreover the comfortable place in the childrenhome of Nagydobrony?
The answer was definite.
On the first day 48 desperated eyes looked to Bányai Sándor. We tryed to smile: "Sanyi, do you understand? We've never done such things.!" Sanyi was able to travel from Hungary to teach us using our abilities. Maybe he wanted to make us love this.
In any case he put off us from our comfort-zone already on Thursday afternoon.
In the night we watched the coins, run, claped our hands, laughed, trampled legs, taught little plushes to fly (flinged them to our mates), and tryed to score the names of our neighbours.
Is it seriously the way we have to do? And it was continued on Friday. He made us to work. We built an arch - from our body, feet Kőmíves Kelemenné. Then we made ukrainian colored (blue-yellow) objects from a constructor-game, and Sanyi said, those are the furnitures of Holy Tent.
After it we carried the ark of covenant, what was red and ball-shaped. Are we out of reality a little bit? We didn't have time to think about it, we had to run, clap and laugh forward. And the cakes also lifted our cheer all time.
On Saturday morning I was no sure, that it is the reality. One thing was clear to me: I will carry it home, and I want use it in my work. Sanyi gave us also the teorical basis for using it int he future, and what is more, we learned some struggle movements, maybe it would we useful between children.
In the afternoon he took a question, but I didn't mind it. The group stood up and everyone tried to find his place in the room.
I thought it would be another creative selfmortification. I stood on one side of group and saw others, and I didn't know what is the object. Sanyi appeared near us, and said: ok, than you will give an exercise for us!
Oops, the hangman will became a hangee.
On the Sunday morning I experimented on my neibours. After I finished my games, the others whispered kindly word to my ears. I learned a lot on this weekend.
I am very thankful for beening there and for everything I tryed, saw and experienced. Catching the matter, I can say without overstatement: sometimes it was an unearthly experience. Such is the experience-pedagogy...”
